Doesn't the Nigerian government know that its airports are the gateway to the world, and the first and last impressions of the country are made here? Then why doesn't it sort out the behaviour of its representatives at the airports.
hmm...shola.... very interesting take. But, you do realize that the UK is several hundred years older than nigeria. Rome, was not built in one day. Takes patience and time.
About bribery..lol!! i could tell you some stories. But the question really is, a) do these officials collect bribe because of greed b) because they are not being paid enough so they have to subsidize their income...
hey shola, I do agree with you shola that there are people who do not earn half as much and yet they survive but these people are living in environments where that is fine. In many cases, the govt helps to subsidize their living expenses. Come on, you know how expensive things are in Naija? We definitely do not have any govt subsidy. LOL!! Who go subsidize what? I am generally surprised at how the common person survives.
I do agree that it could be a major security loop hole but how can it be addressed?
One thing i have noticed of my naija people is that we complain a lot and do absolutely nada!!

The thing is there are many people who do not earn half as much as these officials, yet they survive!
It's not really the fault of the people in the frontline, but their bosses who expect daily returns.
The real problem is that this could be seen as a potential security loophole, it needs to be addressed.
